My name is John Moritz and I am the owner of Dynamic Body Art in Minonk, Illinois. I began tattooing as a hobby in 1988. From 1992 until 1996, I gained knowledge of metal machining and fabrication. Though, unintentional, this experience would found the basis of my tattoo machine building endeavors in the future. To me, machining and fabrication were as much an art form as any other. In 1997, I began my road to tattooing professionally. At the same time, while tattooing would become my career, building tattoo machines would take over as my newly reborn hobby. In December of 1998, Dynamic Body Art was born! . In January of 2001 a small machine shop was added to our facilities. This was the extension I needed to continue building tattoo machines. I strongly believe in the value of old world craftsmanship by use of modern technology and this becomes apparent in my artwork, my tattoo art, and my tattoo machines.
